Gabriel-Jacques
de Saint-Aubin studied at the Académie with François Boucher (1703-1770). He was a prodigious draughtsman and engraver who chronicled
the daily life of Paris. The
small drawings he made in the margins of auction catalogs and copies of
the Salons catalogs leave us with an invaluable record of the art of his
time.
